Land Art
Andy Goldsworthy
Andy Goldsworthy is a brilliant British artist who collaborates with nature to make his creations. Besides the United Kingdom, his work has been created at the North Pole, in Japan, the Australian Outback, and in the U.S.
Goldsworthy regards all his artwork as transient, or ephemeral. He photographs each piece once right after he makes it. His goal is to understand nature by directly participating in nature as intimately as he can. He generally works with whatever comes to hand: sticks, twigs, leaves, stones, snow and ice, reeds and thorns.

Snow Day! Tutor post
Unfortunately the college is closed today due to the snow. Hope you all keep warm and use the opportunity to do some sketching at home or perhaps if you are one of the brave ones who venture into the cold outdoors you may like to experiment at some snow sculptures?
I have posted some pictures of work created by a land artist called Andy Goldsworthy, he creates fantastic ice and snow sculptures. Perhaps his work may inspire you to have a go.
Take care if you do go out. I hope to see you next week.
